Privacy Policy
CloUp(“we”, “us”) helps you catalog your wardrobe, log outfits, and compete in style arenas. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
Information we collect
- Account. Your email address and a securely hashed password.
- Profile. Optional display name, body measurements you enter (for sizing), and demographics (country, ethnicity, gender, age, height, weight) used only to group you into a fair Arena division.
- Your content. Wardrobe items, wishlist, outfit logs, voice-log transcripts, and photos you upload (item photos, fit pics, Arena entries, AI Lookbook references, and generated looks).
- Usage. Limited counts (e.g. monthly AI-tagging usage) to operate free-tier limits and subscriptions.
- Device data, with your permission. Approximate location (to fetch local weather), and camera / photo / microphone access when you choose to use those features. We do not access them otherwise.
How we use it
- To provide the app: store your closet, render your fits, run the Arena.
- To power AI features you trigger (styling suggestions, photo auto-tagging, item descriptions, voice-log parsing, and private AI Lookbook renders).
- To enforce plan limits and process subscriptions.
- To keep the service secure (e.g. rate-limiting sign-in attempts).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train our own advertising profiles.
Service providers
We share data only as needed with providers that operate the app on our behalf:
- AI processing. When you use an AI feature, the relevant text and/or image is sent to the provider that generates the result. Anthropic processes styling, tagging, description, and parsing requests. OpenAI processes AI Lookbook requests, including your chosen person reference and selected garment photos, to generate the private rendered looks you request.
- Image storage. Photos are stored in a private cloud bucket and served to you over short-lived, signed links.
- Weather. Coarse coordinates are sent to a weather provider to return current conditions.
- Payments. Subscriptions are handled by Apple and our billing provider; we never receive your full payment-card details.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can remove an AI Lookbook reference or generated batch from the Lookbook screen. You can permanently delete your account at any time from You → Account → Delete account in the app. This erases your profile, closet, fits, voice logs, Arena entries, Lookbook content, and uploaded images. Deletion is irreversible.
Security
Passwords are hashed, image uploads are stripped of embedded location/EXIF metadata, and stored images are private by default. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
Children
CloUp is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your data from within the app, or contact us for assistance. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be surfaced in the app.
